Hentzen Contractors Inc. is a full service General Contractor serving Wichita and south central Kansas. In 1963, Bernard A. (Bud) Hentzen started the company and focused primarily on being the best insurance repair contractor in south central Kansas. Bud always said, "Do quality work, charge a fair price and you can be successful." Almost forty years later his family owned business has withstood the test of time. The company is now led by brothers Bernard M. (Bernie) Hentzen, President and Robert A. (Bob) Hentzen, Vice President. They have been with the company since 1975 and 1977 respectively. Bernie is the general manager and oversees daily operations of the company. Bernie has served as chairman for the Wichita Area Builders Association (WABA) and has been a national director for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) for the past eight years. Bob manages the commercial division and directs the production schedules for our McDonald's restaurant account. Bob is also a member of WABA. Although the company has never wavered from itís original vision, it has now expanded into three areas of construction, remodeling, insurance repair and light commercial. Some would say "why would you want to do anything different when you are already successful?" Our answer is simple, "always listen to your clients' requests." Our Staff The remodeling division is led by Mike Winkle C.K.D. who has been with the company for twenty years. Mike is accredited with a C.K.D. (certified kitchen designer) with the National Kitchen and Bath Association. Mike primarily works with kitchen and bath projects, theater rooms and room additions. Mike is also a member of WABA and has served as chairman for the Remodelors Council. Sam Peters is one of our estimators and has over thirty years of service with us. Sam is a painter by trade and moved into the office eleven years ago. He handles jobs in insurance repair and remodeling. Dan Parsons is our production manager and has over fifteen years with the company. He takes care of scheduling our labor force, which is made up of 18 craftsmen and apprentices. You will see Dan on your project having meetings with our lead carpenters and sub-contractors to see that all expectations are being met.
